I am glad I went this route because unless you have money to blow, there is nothing wrong with these Sceptre TV’s. This is my second, and the reason I had to replace my first is because I was cleaning the screen and it fell about 4 feet and hit a steel safe on the floor, I love it. It does what I need it to do. No complaints here.Anyways looks really good I knew is not a smart TV so plugged the fire stick and got it fast and great quality. The shipped settings were all over the place and took some time to to get ‘close’ — though different chanels seemed different so largely source dependent.I had a pixel block freeze 3/4×1 inch … again chanel change made it dissapear.. After that, it doesn’t get any louder. All that to say, I am hoping I get a soundbar for christmas because I can’t hear this tv unless the room is silent. On the bright side.Definitely add a sound bar if you intend to have a movie/game experience with this TV. I use decent ($10) in-ear buds with my Xbox when I want to game at night – no complaints.
The tradeoff is sound. The stock speakers (rear mounted) are woefully underpowered and need to be cranked up to over half just to get. Anyhow I’m sure you’ll love it at a great price!! .it came 2 days early before hurricane Michael (storm) came in lol. Thank God.I purchased the Asurion 4 yr. protection plan but they wouldn’t help and referred me back to the manufacturer saying it was still covered by them.I have made it better. You can download test images to a flash drive and then view them on the USB setting on TV. I will say that the TV has much more image definition than my old one had. I do not see any failed pixels which I notice in the operators manual they allow for a few as allowable and not a Warranty issue.as well as one for color/brightness. I can even set the color of the closed captioning text to whatever I want. Who makes you pay to ship their junk back to them. The TV was great while it worked but now I have to pay to get warranty work done. but he acted like I had interrupted him in the middle of goodness knows what, and that I was an idiot.
It feels good enough for watching movies. I am not satisfied with it for a high-resolution 2nd monitor. My webpages look grainy and low-resolution on the TV when I am sharing my monitor.I would definitely not buy this again. I am still deciding if I will keep it (I need to look at the return options available). I feel that I might be happier with a smaller screen that has better image quality.I’ve also seen many TVs shipped and for the record this is the stupidest way to pack them because it’s not safe and will break the majority of the time. the gap at the front of the screen is suicide, Can’t beat the price. Also snagged the extra 4 yr warranty along with it. The volume is ok, but I think it will be better with a sound bar. It is wall mountable. Hooks up to cable. All in all a very good TV. I could not set up the television because it would not allow me to finally I was able to do it only to turn it on the next day when I do turn on the tv the screen is black and nothing is showing on the screen I have tried everything .we have to wait for a box to be shipped and they will only o a repair instead of a new one. We even purchased the extra warranty through square-trade. To be continued
