could see much better blending and motion handling and even the colors looked better. It’s ability to upscale 1080P was better than my C7 and was very impressive. Once again though old SD 480 video was not all that great. I didn’t have any problems with our wifi lan in the house till I hooked this device up. We’ve had issues with that for a week. we just are juggling remotes and without any Alexa functionality and the receiver doesn’t shut off automatically.Even the back panel looks very clean and has cable management system to make it all tidy. To make it even easier to navigate menus, LG gives you their Magic Remote. Its rubbery button layout is nice and has Netflix, the TV was packed inside this extra box!! And amazingly enough, UPS actually followed the this-side-up label, so the TV was resting on the top of the screen the whole time.TV would power off after 10 seconds. Even after going through steps with an LG rep on the phone. Had to return it.The other settings can be set to your taste and there are plenty of places online to get expert suggestions on those as well. But suffice it to say: I knew it could be an issue after a few years’ use. But I didn’t fully realize how bad it will be until it happens. Now I know how bad it is.
You can see the bend while viewing from the side. I don’t know if this occurred during shipping or during my assembly. I was disappointed to find the LG set’s Spotify app looks great, but it won’t output audio. This is the only “audio” app I’ve found so far that has issues, but LG user forums say it’s been a problem for years and LG hasn’t provided a good solution. This is a great set that may require a few workarounds for bugs in the LG apps.I thought my 2016 LG OLED TV was good…and it was. But they have really taken it to a new level with the improvements over the last 3 years. however, it feels like a tweaked C7 given that most of the features like pixel orientation, HDMI inputs, input lag, WiFi, apps. which means that each model will be able to give you the same vivid and rich visuals. This makes choosing between them a bit more simple. At worst however, the Alpha 7 should still be an improvement over last years M16+ processor, so it should not be any worse in terms of speed or display abilities when compared to a 2017 model. Lastly for W8 owners,.
I assume that the Alpha 7 processor in B8 models should at worst handle image processing the same as a 2017 Oled, but I have yet to find any information on advantages that the Alpha 7 has over 2017 Oleds in general. other TV models and technologies are able to produce brightness levels well above 1000 nits, but LG’s Oled’s ability to decrease black levels in individual pixels to virtually off levels, while displaying rich and vibrant color images, is a difference maker. Though many TV aficionados have stated that it would be better to wait until HDMI 2.1 is incorporated into TV’s, there has been an announcement that Dolby Vision will become available through software to a number of devices through software update, Although other TV companies may be able to get the DV software through an update as previously announced, LG’s has had a leg up on the competition with DV support since 2016 on its integrated TV apps such as Netflix and Vudu when the content is available which looks spectacular. The rest of the differences relate to styling. Here’s a rundown.
